Dental Treatment and COVID-19

Dear Patients,

On 25th March 2020 Sara Hurley (Chief Dental Officer England) and Matt Neligan (Director of Primary Care and System transformation) released their latest statement on the rapidly developing COVID-19 pandemic.

We would like to update you on how this will affect our service provision at Dentalcare Group. The guidance is clear that all routine, non-urgent dental care, including orthodontic treatments must be deferred until advised otherwise. We are still here to support you and your dental needs through this unprecedented time.

We want to take this opportunity to reassure all our patients that we take the spread of the COVID-19 in the UK very seriously. The health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors to our dental practice is our main priority.

Here at Dentalcare Group we will be providing all our patients with a remote service during normal working hours. Our dentists will perform telephone triaging for: advice; analgesia; and antimicrobials (if appropriate) . We will not be able to see you at the practice.

If it is not possible to manage your symptoms remotely, you will have to be referred to a Local Urgent Dental Care Centre. Details of these are currently being established in our area and we will update you as soon as we have further information.

We will use our best professional judgement in the triaging process and work collaboratively with our Local Urgent Care system, possibly volunteering our expertise where necessary to help meet the demands imposed on this new emergency service.

FAQ’s

Is My Personal Information Safe when I Join the Dentalcare Plan?
You can be sure both the practice team and the administrators of our plan, Privilege Plan Ltd, take your privacy and the security of your personal information very seriously. Your personal details will not be passed on to any third party organisations and you will not receive unsolicited marketing literature for any associated financial products or services. Please ask for our Privacy Policy at the Practice.
What do you need to know about terms and Conditions?
• There is a once only £10 administration joining fee which will be taken at your first monthly collection
• Your monthly payments will be taken on or around the 10th of each month by our administrators Privilege Plan Ltd and their name will appear on your bank statement
• Your benefits will commence following your first monthly payment and your next routine appointment will be included as one of your plan entitlements
• You will not be asked to sign a contract and you may leave the plan at any time by contacting your bank or building society or directly with Privilege Plan Ltd on 01536 771219.
• If your Direct Debit payments fail three times consecutively we may cancel your membership
• Patients are responsible for making and attending appointments provided by the plan
• Entitlements not used in any given period may not be carried forward or refunded
• Your membership is continuous and does not require renewing each year
• In the unlikely event of you cancelling your plan you may be required to pay for your last appointment and we reserve the right to recover any discounts applied to treatment completed in the previous six-month period.
• We ask that you provide 3 months of notice to leave the plan
